A 32 years old Pok resident who had inadvertently crossed over to India in may this year was repatriated by the Indian army today as a Goodwill gesture.
Officials told that Shabir Ahmad a resident of Muzzaffarad in PoK had inadvertently crossed over to Indian side on 17th May and was captured by the Indian
army with the help of people of Tangdhar.
He was given medical care and was treated with dignity and respect according to the Indian Army. Once he stabalized, the Pakistan Authorities were approached for repatriation.
Shabir Ahmad was repatriated on humanitarian grounds today at Tithwal crossing point in Taghdar sector by the SDM Tangdhar where Pakistan Authorities accepted the
individual and appreciated the humanitarian gesture.
